The choir tooks its name from the Royal Naval
Association, since its original members -- back in 1972 -- were all RNA
members. Hovever, in the intervening years, the choir's membership
diversified and, in more recent years, the choir operated
as an
autonomous unit, with its own committee and bank account.
Throughout its entire life the choir enjoyed the benefits of the rehearsal and storage facilites afforded by the Leamington Spa RNA Club, in return for which all choir members were asked to become members of the RNA, and the choir has agreed to stage two fund-raising concerts each year in aid of the local branch. As RNA members, choir members were entitled to use all the facilities of the RNA Club, seven days a week.
The choir's dress uniform, worn for all public performances, sported a specially adapted version of the RNA crest on the blazer pocket.
